BEVERLY, Mass. –
Carly Craft's first career goal was the difference for the Skidmore College women's soccer team, as it completes the weekend with two victories following a 1-0 win over Endicott, in non-conference action at Hempstead Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Skidmore begins the season 2-0 for the third straight season. Endicott falls to 1-1.
In the 59
th minute, Craft sized up a feed from sophomore
Yasmine Boukari, beating the keeper wide. It's the sixth point (two goals, two assists) for Boukari over the weekend.
It was enough for freshman goalie
Ava Keller, who made a pair of saves over the final 45:00 minutes to earn her first career victory. Fellow freshman
Vivian Montgomery-Walsh got the start, making one save over the first 45 minutes. Their counterpart, Kayla Wentworth, made six saves in the loss.
Endicott held a slim 14-13 shot advantage, but Skidmore had the edge on shots on target at 7-3.
Skidmore will return home for the first time this season next weekend, as it hosts New Paltz at Wachenheim Field on Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.
