SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—
Yasmine Boukari scored two second-half goals to lead the Skidmore College women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over SUNY New Paltz, Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.
The Thoroughbreds are off to a perfect 3-0 start, while the Hawks are 0-4.
Skidmore dominated play in a scoreless first half. With six underclassmen in the starting lineup, including four freshmen ,the Thoroughbreds had a  16-2 shot advantage over the first 45:00.
The teams traded chances to start the second half. New Paltz nearly made it 1-0 when Skidmore goalie
Ava Keller tipped a Danielle Angyai shot off a break over the cross bar
and out of danger in the 53
rd minute. The Thorougbhreds responded with a Boukari rocket from just outside the box that sailed under the crossbar for a 1-0 lead at 55:20.
Vanessa Eljaiek-Martinez scored her first collegiate goal at 70:00 when she attacked down the left side and placed a perfect ball on the ground that caught the far side of the goal
for a 2-0 lead. Boukari upped it to 3-0 at 81:53 when she collected a long pass from defender
Molly Kosh and placed a shot far side.
Skidmore outshot New Paltz 25-5.
Vivian Montgomery-Walsh had two saves in the first half for the Thoroughbreds, while
Ava Keller had two saves over the final 45:00.
Skidmore travels to top ranked Williams College tomorrow for a 12 p.m. game.
