WATERVILLE, Maine—The Skidmore College field hockey team shook off an opening day loss with a 4-0 road win over Thomas College Saturday afternoon.

Gabby Hyman scored a pair of goals to lead the Thoroughbreds. She opened the scoring at 2:51 of the first half from
Marissa Folts.
Mariah Redler made it 2-0 at 7:52.

Hyman upped the score to 3-0 from
Sarah Winters at 38:42 and
Emily Richmond rounded out the scoring on a assist from
Meaghan Lynch at 44:47.

Three Skidmore goalies combined for the shutout.
Elizabeth Coughlin played the first 23:36 and had one save to earn the win.
Madeleine Carre had three saves over 21:24 and
Jess Gaetgens had two saves in 25:00.

The Thoroughbreds had a 17-12 shot and 14-12 corner advantage.

Skidmore will host Geneseo in its home opener on Sept. 8 at 12 p.m.
