SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College softball team began its delayed Liberty League schedule at home Sunday, losing twice to Ithaca College 6-2 and 8-3.

The Thoroughbreds are 11-9 overall and 0-2 in league play, while the Bombers move to 11-7 and 2-2.

In the first game, Ithaca, playing as the home team, scored an unearned two-out run in the first inning and another pair of two-out runs in the second to go up 3-0. Skidmore got two back in the top of the third.
Adrianna Garcia doubled and later scored on a
Karly Fishkin sacrifice fly. Then
Hannah Paolucci had a clutch two-out single.

The Bombers added a pair of runs in the fifth on consecutive RBI doubles by Abby Shields and Alex Wright to go up 5-3. An insurance run on Gabby Laccona sac fly made it the 6-3 final.

Amanda Carilli (8-3) allowed six runs (five earned) on 10 hits and two walks for the Thoroughbreds. Emily Holden (4-0) remained unbeaten with the complete game three-hit win. She struck out eight and walked one.

Ithaca started quick in game two with three runs in the bottom of the first, keyed by an RBI single by Hannah Anderson and an RBI double from Wright. Â Skidmore tied it in the second with a towering three-run home run to left center by
Nicole Rosner. It was the freshman's first career home run.

The Bombers broke it open with four in its half of the second. Gabby Laccona took a 3-1 pitch deep over the fence in center for three of the four runs and a 7-3 lead.

Ithaca added one more in the fourth when Shields doubled on her 10
th pitch of the at bat for the 8-3 final.

Carilli (8-4) went 3.1 innings in the loss.
Emily Popp had 2.2 innings of no-hit relief. Beth Fleming (4-4) earned the win in relief. She pitched the final five innings, allowing no runs on one hit to go along with 10 strikeouts.

Skidmore continues its 16-game home stand on April 10 with a non-league pair against Sage at 3:30.
