SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College baseball team finished its Liberty League schedule on Sunday, losing to Rochester 8-4 in 11 innings in a continuation of Saturday's suspended game and then 4-2 in the first of two scheduled for Sunday. The final game was cancelled because of rain.

The Thoroughbreds are 13-21 overall and 8-15 in league play. The Yellowjackets are 14-12 and 14-3.

Skidmore will close out the season with a home game Tuesday at 4 against Williams College and then a doubleheader at Williams on May 5.

In the completion of Saturday's game, the Thoroughbreds scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth to erase a 4-1 deficit.
Jake Hardy had a bases loaded fielder's choice to score the get the first run of the eighth. Pat Geiger then scored on a wild pitch and
Justin LaRose plated
Mike Fogarty on a sacrifice fly to center.

Skidmore had a chance to win it in the 10th when Fogarty opened the inning with a single to center and moved to second on a Hardy sacrifice. After a groundout to short, LaRose drew a walk, but the Yellowjackets stopped the threat with a fielder's choice.

Rochester then scored four in the 11th, keyed by a two-run double by Tyler Schmidt, for the 8-4 final.

Fogarty was 2-6 with two runs, while
Will Potter went 2-5.

In the day's final game, starter
Spencer Anderson allowed three runs (two earned) over the first five innings, striking out seven. Reliever
Andrew Aikins (3-1) was tagged with his first loss of the season.

Aiden Finch was 4-5 with two RBI and Jack Hermon was 3-4 for Rochester. Starter Luke Meyerson went five innings, allowing one run on five hits and five strikeouts. Garrett Renslow (1-1) got the win in relief. He went 3.2 innings, allowing no runs on three hits, three walks and three strikeouts.

In the next game, Skidmore went up 2-1 with a pair of unearned runs in the third inning when
Nick Fronte and LaRose scored on an outfield error off the bat of
Shawn Klier.

Playing as the home team, Rochester scored single runs in the third, fourth, and sixth for the 4-2 final.

With his leadoff walk in the first inning, Potter tied the program record of reaching base safely to 26 straight games. Batting for the first time in his four-year collegiate career, Aikins had his first hit the sixth inning, a single up the middle.

Jonathan Kaiser (1-1) lost in relief. He allowed one run on two hits, two walks and a strikeout over two innings.

Jack Denzer (3-2) won with a complete game seven-hitter for Rochester. Aaron Craig was 3-3 with a double and David Rieth was 2-4 with a double and triple.
