SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— The University of Rochester won a classic game 1 pitchers' duel 2-0 over Skidmore College Saturday in Liberty League action at Castle Diamond.
The second game was suspended by rain/sleet with The Yellowjackets up 3-1 after five innings. The game will be completed Sunday morning at 11 a.m., followed by the regularly scheduled doubleheader.
The Thoroughbreds are 13-19 overall and 8-13 in league play, while UR is 12-12 and 12-3.
Jay Gamboa (2-3) had a strong game on the mound for Skidmore. He went 6 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on 11 hits, with no walks and five strikeouts. Pat Geiger had a double and

Will Conroy (3-0) had the complete game three-hit shutout for Rochester. He walked one and struck out six. Ryland McNabb and Aaron Craig had RBI singles. Steve Pickering was 3-4 and Aiden French was 2-4 with a double.
