BENNINGTON, Vt.— Scoring 12 runs wasn't enough for the Skidmore College baseball team in a 16-12 non-league loss to  Southern Vermont College Tuesday evening.

The Thoroughbreds are 13-18. Southern Vermont is 8-17.

Skidmore had 15 hits, including home runs by Justin Bottcher, Shawn Klier, and Pat Geiger.

Down 5-4, the Thoroughbreds scored two in the fourth and five in the fifth to open an 11-5 lead. Southern Vermont responded with five in the fifth and six more in the seventh on the way to the 16-12 final.
