UTICA, N.Y.—Utica College scored the game's final four goals in a 4-1 non-league field hockey win over Skidmore College Wednesday night.
The loss had the Thoroughbreds at 6-9, while the Pioneers are 5-9.
Gabby Hyman opened the scoring with her 12
th goal of the season from
Grace Florsheim at 11:34. Utica got three goals from Rylee Meelan in a 7:54 span at
the end of the first half and beginning of the second on the way to the 4-1 final.
Marissa Folts had her team-high fourth defensive save for Skidmore.
The Thoroughbreds outshot Utica 16-14 and led in corners 8-4.
Elizabeth Coughlin had five saves in 56:22, while
Jess Gaetgens had one save in 5:32.
Skidmore returns to Liberty League action at home Friday with a 4 p.m. game against Union College.
