SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The No. 11 Skidmore College field hockey team utilized a balanced offensive attack, tallying a season-high for goals in a 7-0 victory over Nazareth, in non-league action at Wagner Park Wednesday afternoon.
Skidmore, the 11-ranked team in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA rankings, improves to 4-2 overall. Nazareth falls to 1-6.
Six different players tallied a goal for the Thoroughbreds, who held an impressive 37-0 shot advantage in the contest and dominated on the penalty corner count, 24-1.

Gabby Hyman got things started early for Skidmore, taking a feed from sophomore forward
Miranda Davenport, just 2:26 into the contest. Hyman's attempt fired past the keeper's glove side into the cage.
In the 26th minute, Hyman and Davenport hooked up for another goal. This time, Hyman found Davenport on a long pass into the arc, with the sophomore making an impressive move to get past the goalie, tapping the ball in cage.
The Thoroughbreds exploded offensively after halftime, with Hyman tallying her second of the game in the 38th minute, off a Skidmore corner. Junior defender
Marissa Folts found Hyman, who beat the Nazareth goalie high. Skidmore would add two more goals in a 10-minute stretch, a penalty stroke goal by senior defender
Kayla Rose at 46:43 and a goal by junior forward

Folts got on the board with her goal in the 53rd minute, scoring off her own rebound. With the time elapsing in the contest, Skidmore was awarded its second penalty stroke attempt of the game, with senior forward
Caroline Saros finishing things off, beating the keeper stick side.

Zoe McGuire didn't need to make a save in the contest to pick up her third victory of the season. Sophomore Maddy Carré filled in for McGuire in the second half to clinch the shutout.
Kimber Nourse made 18 saves for Nazareth in the game.
The Thoroughbreds will begin Liberty League play on Saturday, when they travel up north to Canton to face St. Lawrence at 2 p.m.
