PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh tallied three first-half goals, as the Skidmore College women's soccer team fell to the Cardinals by a 5-1 score Saturday afternoon.
Skidmore falls to 2-3 overall. Plattsburgh improves to 4-2.
The lone Thoroughbred goal came in the 65th minute, as freshman midfielder
Yasmine Boukari tallied her first career goal. Fellow freshman
Lauren Winkler found Boukari outside of the 18-yard box, with Boukari's shot chipping the Plattsburgh goalkeeper.
Madeline Saccocio got Plattsburgh on the board with a quick goal 1:58 in. She added a second in the 24th minute, and added two assists. Sarah Haight also tallied two goals and two assists, and Cait Gagen tallied a goal to complete the scoring.
Plattsburgh outshot the Thoroughbreds, 19-12. Senior goalkeeper
Alyssa Rollins made six saves in net. Her counterpart, Taylor Adams, made a pair of saves in the first half to pick up the victory.
The Thoroughbreds return home to take on Hartwick at Wachenheim Field Tuesday afternoon.
