SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Hartwick College tallied the game's lone goal off a restart late in the second half for a 1-0 non-league win over Skidmore College Tuesday night at Wachenheim Field.

The loss drops the Thoroughbreds to 2-4, while the Hawks move to 5-2.

Sierra Bentley placed a restart perfectly on the head of Rachel Pine who found the corner of the net from eight yards out at 74:53. It was the fifth assist of the season for Bentley and first goal of the year for Pine.

Neither team had great opportunities in the first half, with Skidmore keeper
Alyssa Rollins turning away all four Hartwick shots on goal.

The Thoroughbreds had a great opportunity in the 53rd minute when a dangerous corner was cleared by Hawk goalie Cassandra Robataille. Skidmore had a another chance in the 80th minute on a
Courtney Shaw restart from 23 yards out that sailed just high.

Hartwick outshot Skidmore 13-6. Rollins finished with seven saves, including a diving stop with 3:40 left to keep it a one-goal game. Hawk starter Celeste Trevellini and Robataille did not make a save for the combined shutout.

The Thoroughbreds open Liberty League play at William Smith College on Sept. 23 at 3 p.m.
