TROY, N.Y.— The Skidmore College women's lacrosse team had multiple goal efforts from five different players in a 17-11 Liberty League win at Rensselaer Friday night.

The Thoroughbreds finish the regular season in second place in the Liberty League with an 11-5 overall and 7-2 league mark. RPI ends its season at 6-9 and 4-5.Â

William Smith will finish first and host the Liberty League tournament on May 5-6. Both teams will learn their semifinal opponents after Saturday's league games.

Tyler Phillips led Skidmore with four goals and two assists.
Cas Szwajkowski and
Marisa Caponi added three goals each.
Gianna Muscari had two goals and an assist, while
Amanda Orvis had two goals.
Rachel Talanian,
Natalie LaBeau, and
Allison Byrne had a goal and an assist each.

Talanian had five caused turnovers, four draw controls, and four ground balls. LaBeau had five draws and four ground balls, while Phillips had six ground balls and three draws.

RPI scored the last three goals of the first half and the first goal of the second half to take an 8-7 lead. The Thoroughbreds responded with three goals in 1:07 to regain control. Phillips (25:21), LaBeau (24:32), and Caponi (24:14) led the attack.

The Engineers snapped the run with a goal at 22:50 to cut it to 10-9, but Skidmore scored the next five goals on the way to the 17-11 win.

Skidmore had a 34-26 shot and 18-11 draw advantage.

Megan Kolopsky had eight saves and two ground balls in goal for the win.
