KISSIMMEE, Fla.—The Skidmore College softball team spit a pair on Tuesday, losing 2-1 to Ramapo College, then coming back to beat St. Norbert 6-3 in game 2.
The Thoroughbreds are 2-4 at the halfway mark of their trip.
In the opener,
Lizette Roman-Johnston went 2-3 and
Emily Popp was 1-3 with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh. Popp had a decent outing on the mound, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
Skidmore overcame a 3-0 deficit against St. Norbert with a four-run fourth inning and two runs in the fifth.
Heather Mak was 3-3 with two-run single. Roman-Johnston went 3-4 with a two-run single of her own.
Mary Farrington went 2-4 with a double and run, while
Jill Strileckis and
Maddie Nelson each had RBI singles.
Amanda Carilli got the complete game win, allowing three runs (one unearned) on 11 hits, one walk, and one strike out.
The Thoroughbreds play Lesley University and Mount St. Mary on March 15.
