BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College outscored Skidmore 4-0 in the third quarter on the way to a 13-10 non-league win in the season opener for both teams.

Jack Metzler led the Thoroughbreds with three goals.
Will Lukas added two goals and an assist and
Ryan Warnock had an assist and a team-high six ground balls.
Jack Howat chipped in four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Chris Baughan stopped 20 shots in net.

Owen Allen led the Beavers with four goals and an assist and Brendan Duffy had two goals and three assists.
Babson scored the game's first three goals for an early 3-0 in a wild first quarter. Skidmore responded with five straight goals in less than five minutes to go in front 5-3. Metzler scored two of the five, with
Jack Curry,
Cody Legeza, and
Eric Megnia adding solo tallies.Â

Allen stopped the Skidmore run with a goal at 3:45. Will Luka responded for the Thoroughbreds with a man-up goal at 3:05, before Allen beat the horn with his third of the game with :04 left in the first, cutting the Skidmore lead to 6-5.

After a pair of Babson goals to open the second quarter, Metzler tied it 7-7 with 3:07 left and
Elliot Graham put Skidmore back in front 8-7 with 1:21 left. The Beavers tied it again with 21 seconds left.

Babson broke it open with four unanswered goals in the third quarter for a 12-8 lead on the way to the 13-10 final.Â
Brendan Halloran and Lukas had the final two Skidmore goals.

Skidmore will  host Clark University on March 1 at 6 p.m.
