ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Skidmore College volleyball team got back into the win column at a crucial time, defeating Bard in three sets (25-18, 25-16, 25-18) in Liberty League action Saturday evening.
Skidmore stays in the thick of the Liberty League postseason race at 3-2 in league action and 13-7 overall. The Thoroughbreds sit in fourth place, a match ahead of St. Lawrence, with a pair of league matches to go. Bard drops to 4-17 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

Skidmore went on an 8-1 run in the first set to grab a 12-7 lead. Skidmore ended the set winning four of five points, forcing Bard into four errors to end it. The second set saw the Thoroughbreds post its best hitting percentage (.448), never trailing to gain the 25-16 advantage. In the third set, Skidmore jumped out to a quick 4-0 start. After Bard chipped away at the deficit, eventually tying things up at 11, Skidmore went on an 8-1 run to essentially clinch the match, winning 25-18.
Katy Ehnstrom led the Thoroughbreds in the victory with 12 kills, hitting .409.
Lauren Wolters paced the offense with 29 assists and a pair of kills.

Allie Dillon each tallied 10 digs on the defensive end.
Philippine Alba tallied 16 kills to lead the Raptors, adding 11 digs.
The Thoroughbreds stay on the road, traveling to Middlebury for a midweek match, on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
