SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—St. Lawrence scored two late goals to break open a one-goal game on the way to a 5-2 Liberty League women's soccer win over Skidmore College Saturday at Wachenheim Field.

The Thoroughbreds are 3-9-2 overall and 0-5-2 in the Liberty League. The Saints improve to 10-4 and 5-2 in league play.

St. Lawrence struck first when a pair of Skidmore players became entangled and Kaleigh White was able to dribble in alone from 18 yards out to score into an empty net at 6:46. The Thoroughbreds tied it in the 20
th minute on a long distance rocket from
Courtney Shaw. Shaw's shot from 30 yards out was well placed into the top left corner.

The Saints added two more goals before the half. Megan Gannon scored off a deflection at 32:58 and then assisted on a Julia Mulhern goal at 34:37.

Skidmore cut it to 3-2 on a one-time header by
Emma Basso off a long cross from Shaw at 62:47. It was a team-high fifth goal of the season for Basso. The Saints responded when Kaite Clemmer made a nice run down the right side and then hit Mulhern who tallied her second of the day. Â Hannah Merriam added a late goal for the Saints when she scored on a deep shot from 26 yards out at 82:08.

The Thoroughbreds outshot SLU 22-16.

Alyssa Rollins had six saves for Skidmore, while Samantha Allen had seven for the Saints, including five in the second half.

Skidmore will close out the season with a pair of Liberty League home games. Union College travels to Saratoga on Oct. 25 for a 7 p.m. game and Bard will be the Senior Day foe on Oct. 28.
