SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Clarkson snapped Skidmore's five-game unbeaten streak with a 3-2 Liberty League men's soccer win Wednesday night at Wachenheim Field.

It was the first league loss for the Thoroughbreds who have a 5-2-6 overall and 1-1-5 Liberty League record. The Golden Knights move to 7-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in league play.

Clarkson got on the board first when James Homan headed a corner to Kevin Calnan who headed into the net at 10:51.  Skidmore evened it 1-1 at 28:54 when
Ben Poole headed home a long throw from
Ben Caples.

The Golden Knights took a 2-1 lead when a Thoroughbred miscommunication left a ball in front for Stephen Kilmek to fire into an empty net at 34:38.

Drew Lewis made a quick move to get a head on a long cross from Brandon Bahr for 3-1 Clarkson lead at 55:36.

Skidmore's second goal came with five seconds to play when
Augustine Okoye headed one past Riley McDonald off a
Matt Schwab corner.

The Thoroughbreds outshot the Golden Knights 17-7, while corners were 3-3.

Sebastian Bosch played the first 43:39 for Skidmore with two saves,
Pearse Martin did not make a save over the final 46:21. McDonald finished with six saves for Clarkson.

Next up for the Thoroughbreds is an Oct. 21 game at St. Lawrence.
