ITHACA, N.Y. – A pair of first-half Ithaca goals were too much for the Skidmore College women's soccer team, falling to the Bombers 2-1 in Liberty League action at Carp Wood Field Friday afternoon.
The Thoroughbreds fall to 2-8-1 overall and 0-3-1 in league action. The Bombers earned its first Liberty League win in its first season, improving to 1-4 and 4-8 overall. Ithaca came to the Liberty League from the Empire 8 conference this season.

Alyssa Rollins. Sam Robinson was there to push the ball into the back of the net on the rebound to give the Bombers a 1-0 lead.
Skidmore wasted no time, getting back into the game with a goal 10 minutes later.
Courtney Shaw, moving to forward after a Thoroughbred substitution, took advantage of Skidmore's first shot of the contest, tallying her first of the season.
Ithaca rebounded, getting a second goal right before half, in the 43
rd minute. This time, it was Robinson who took the initial shot, which was deflected by Rollins. Jordan Haynes corralled the rebound, pushing it past Rollins.
Skidmore would outshoot Ithaca 4-3 in the second half, but was unable to push the tying goal past Ithaca keeper Stacey Digiorgio.
Rollins made five saves in the effort, while Digiorgio made two to earn the victory.
Skidmore heads to Western New York on Saturday, facing off against RIT at 2 p.m.
