NEW PALTZ, N.Y.—Playing its third game in four days, the Skidmore College field hockey team downed SUNY New Paltz 2-0 in a non-league game.

The Thoroughbreds have won three straight and four of five to move to 9-4. The 4-9 Hawks have dropped five straight.

Skidmore dominated the game, with the Thoroughbred midfield and defense keeping New Paltz in its own end for most of the game. Skidmore didn't allow a shot on goal and had a 23-3 shot advantage. The Hawks had seven corners, but the Thoroughbreds stifled each chance.

Caroline Saros registered the first Skidmore goal at 22:10 from
Kayla Rose.
Sarah Winters made it 2-0 24:44 off a corner from
Seeley Fancher and
Meaghan Lynch.

Elizabeth Coughlin didn't have to make a save in her first shutout of the season. She improved her record to 3-1.
