SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's soccer team was unable to get the game winner in the team's second consecutive overtime game, leading to a 0-0 draw at Union in the Liberty League opener Tuesday night. The Thoroughbreds will head to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to take on Vassar on Saturday afternoon.
Skidmore's record now stands at 3-1-1 overall, and Union improves to 2-3-2. It was the Liberty League opener for both teams.
The Thoroughbreds peppered the Dutchwomen with shots, especially in the second half to break the deadlock, but was unable to do so. Skidmore posted a 14-5 shot advantage in the second half, and a 23-12 advantage overall.
Christina Sanzari led the Thoroughbreds with seven shots, while
Emily Saliterman and
Courtney Shaw each took five.
Alyssa Rollins picked up her second clean sheet of the season with three saves in goal. Her counterpart, Kelsey Hartsoe, made 11 saves in the shutout effort.
