SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College Thoroughbreds won its second consecutive game, defeating Utica 3-1 at Wachenheim Field on a cool Wednesday evening. The Thoroughbreds will face Plattsburgh at home on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Nick Masiero, and Austin Okoye all scored for the Thoroughbreds (2-2).

Derrick Yam stopped three of four shots faced for the victory.
Bita Gazashvili scored the lone goal for the Pioneers (1-4), on a Joseph Hunter assist. Matthew Milograno made seven saves in the first 72:37 before being carded off. Austin Diller stopped 1-of-2 shots faced in relief.
Skidmore got on the board in the 21st minute, when Lemnios launched a cross about 10 yards away from the Utica sideline. The pass found Barrett in the penalty box, who headed it past the keeper to the left.
The Thoroughbreds doubled their advantage in the 36th minute on the free kick. Park's pass from about 35 yards out found Masiero in the box, finishing high for the goal. With just over two minutes to go until halftime, Utica got on the board. A Hunter cross from outside the box found Gazashvili, who finished low. The official originally ruled Gazashvili offside, but after a quick meeting reversed the call, and awarded the goal.
The game eventually turned physical for both teams. Four cautions – two each by Utica and Skidmore – were given in the final 46 minutes of the game. After a Utica turnover in the 73rd minute,
Kevin Santos had a one-on-one opportunity with Milograno. The keeper slid to stop Santos from an easy chance at goal, and was sent off by the official with the red card.
With just seconds remaining in the contest, Okoye had an opportunity to score, with Utica down to 10 men. He shot with his weak foot, the ball crossing to the bottom left corner of the goal, beating Dillon with just a second remaining.
The Thoroughbreds outshot the Pioneers 28-10, and tallied nine corner kicks to Utica's three.
