Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's soccer falls to undefeated Plattsburgh, 1-0

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's soccer team was held to a season-low six total shots, falling to Plattsburgh 1-0, in a physical battle at Wachenheim Field Saturday afternoon. The Thoroughbreds (2-3) will hit the road to take on MCLA in the team's final non-conference matchup before Liberty League play begins.

Plattsburgh (7-0) got the early goal in the 17th minute. Off a tipped pass, Price corralled the ball, his shot from about 25 yards away got past the Skidmore keeper to the left.

From there, Plattsburgh's defense held strong. Skidmore's best chance came right after the Cardinals goal. In the 19th minute, Kevin Santos played a through ball that got past the defense to Kyle Barrett, his shot beating the keeper high. The official called Barrett offside, negating the goal. Barrett had a header in the 57th minute, inside the penalty box that went high, just above the goal post.

Plattsburgh held a 7-6 advantage in shots. Andrew LaClaustra stopped all two shots on goal to earn the victory. Derrick Yam made three saves in the decision. Skidmore was cautioned twice, once in the 38th minute, and again in the 87th.
