The game was close throughout with five lead changes and 10 ties.

Tied 53-53 after three quarters, Skidmore scored the first four points on a Kayla Mitchell field goal and a pair of Donnelly free throws to go up 57-53 with 9:03 to play. The Thoroughbreds never trailed the rest of the way, but Vassar did tie it twice, the final time, 65-65 when Drakeley scored inside with 53 seconds left.

Fustini broke the tie with a clutch three with 44 seconds left.  That was the last field goal of the game with the rest of the scoring coming from the free throw line.

The Brewers pulled within one 70-69 on a pair of free throws from Maeve Sussman with seven seconds to play. Moceri then hit two of four free throws over the final seconds to preserve the 72-69 win.

Skidmore dominated the inside with a 42-18 scoring advantage. Vassar hit 8-of-17 threes (47.1%) and shot 11-13 (84.6%) from the line to keep the game close.  The Thoroughbreds were 25-51 (49.0%) from the floor.
