SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College hockey team will #12 Norwich University and St. Michael's College this weekend in a pair of New England Hockey Conference games.

The Thoroughbreds (3-2, 3-1 NECH) play Norwich (4-0-1, 4-0) on Friday at 7 p.m. and St. Michael's (2-4, 1-3) on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Friday night is Youth Hockey Night. Free Admission to all fans and the first 50 youth hockey players wearing jerseys will receive an authentic game puck. There will also be a Saratoga Youth Hockey Mini-Game, signed team photos, Fan of the Game giveaways and Score-0 sponsored by The Barrelhouse.

Skidmore beat #2 UMASS-Boston 4-2 last time out, earning the team votes in the most recent USCHO Division III Top-15 poll. The Thoroughbreds are off to the best league start since going 2-0-2 to start the 2006-07 season.

The senior pair of
Anthony Bird (5 goals, 1 assist, 6 points) and
Marc Cibelli (1-4—5) lead the team in scoring. Bird had a hat trick with two short-handed goals in the UMASS-Boston win. Senior
Jack McDonald (2.04 GAA, .940 save%) and freshman
Brandon Kasel (1.00 GAA, .973 SV%) had split time in net.

This is the final league weekend until Jan. 6. The Thoroughbreds play six straight non-league games, starting with Connecticut College on Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. in the first round of the Skidmore Invitational. Fitchburgh State and Neumann play at 5 p.m. in the other semifinal. The tournament wraps on Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. Â (consolation) and 4 p.m. Â (championship).
