UTICA, N.Y.—The Skidmore College field hockey team bounced back from a rare loss Tuesday, to beat Utica College 5-0 Thursday night.
 
Five different players scored for the 11^th ranked Thoroughbreds who improve to 9-3.  The Pioneers fall to 2-10.
 
Seeley Fancher opened the scoring off a rebound at 19:44. Caroline Saros made it 2-0 two minutes later with another successful rebound shot. Fancer set-up Miranda Davenport on a 2 –on-1 in the closing seconds of the first half.
 
Becca Halter converted a penalty stroke at 39:20 and assisted on Gabby Hyman's 15^th of the season off a corner at 56:03.
 
Skidmore outshot Utica 29-5 and had a large 14-4 penalty corner advantage. Elizabeth Coughlin had two saves over the first 66:57, while Maddy Carre didn't face a shot over the final 3:03. V
 
The Thoroughbreds return to Liberty League action on Saturday at Rensselaer with an 11 a.m. start.
