Dani DeGregory scored two goals and
Zoe McGuire stopped five shots to lead the the fifth ranked Skidmore College field hockey team to a 2-0 road win over 19
th ranked Cortland, Saturday.

The Thoroughbreds are off to a 2-0 start, while the Red Dragons drop to 1-1. The game was the first of four straight road games for Skidmore.

The win marked the first time in 45 games that Cortland had been shutout.
DeGregory broke in for one-on-one goal against Cortland goalie Kailynne Reinoehl for a 1-0 lead at 13:36. She made it 2-0 at 33:10 when she scored off her own rebound.

McGuire earned her first collegiate shutout with five saves, including three in the second half.

Skidmore outshot Cortland 18-7 and had an 11-2 corner advantage.
The Thoroughbreds travel to Geneseo on Sept. 12 for a 12 p.m. game.
