SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College volleyball team opened play in the Skidmore Classic with a 3-1 loss to Ramapo College.
The Thoroughbreds are 3-11, while the Roadrunners improve to 8-3. Tournament play continues Saturday at 11 a.m. with Skidmore playing Colby-Sawyer College and Ramapo taking on Sage College.
The teams split the first two sets, with the Roadrunners winning the first 25-22 and the Thoroughbreds battling back to take the second 26-24. Ramapo won the third 25-17 and the fourth 25-11.
Caite Canfield had a double/double with 13 kills and 15 digs.
Allie Dillon registered 17 digs, while Marcela Familiar had a match-high 21 digs.
Sam Abrams (15) and
Bailey Hutchins (14) combined for 29 assists.
