SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Liberty League volleyball season got under way Friday night with six matches at the Williamson Center.Â

Skidmore opened the night with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-9, 25-18 win over Bard. The Thoroughbreds got 13 kills and nine digs from
Caite Canfield.Â
Sam Abrams had 16 assists and three aces, while
Bailey Hutchins added 10 assists, three aces and six digs. Marcela Familiar registered a match-high 13 digs.

The Thoroughbreds came back for a battle with 18
th ranked Clarkson University. The Golden Knights won 3-0 (25-23, 25-9. 25-17).Â
Allie Dillon had 10 digs and a block. Abrams contributed three aces, nine assists, and six digs.
Rachel Licata had three blocks.

Liberty League play shifts to Union College on Saturday. The Thoroughbreds face Vassar at 2 p.m. and St. Lawrence at 4 p.m.
