Emily Saliterman's breakaway goal in the 24
th minute held up for a 1-0 Skidmore women's soccer win over SUNY New Paltz in a non-league game Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.

The Thoroughbreds have won two straight to improve to 2-1, while the Hawks drop to 1-3.

Skidmore controlled play from the start of the game, with
Emma Basso playing a ball through the midfield that sent Saliterman in on a break. The team's leading scorer calmly placed shot past a charging keeper for the game's lone goal. Saliterman has scored in all three games for the Thoroughbreds.

New Paltz managed a few chances in the second half, but Skidmore goalie
Deirdre Walsh stopped both shots she faced for her second shutout of the season.

The Thoroughbreds held a 24-4 shot advantage, while New Paltz had a 4-2 corner edge.

Hawk goalie Mary Flanagan was credited with nine saves.

Skidmore will host Geneseo on Sept. 18 at 3 p.m.
