SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Skidmore College softball freshman Casey Attonito delivered a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to cap a seven-run seventh in a 10-9 come-from-behind win over Rochester, Sunday afternoon at Wagner Park. The Thoroughbreds staged another comeback effort in game two but came up just short, as the Yellowjackets secured a 7-6 win.

Brittney Grage gave Rochester (21-8, 7-1 Liberty League) an 8-3 lead in the top of the seventh, belting a three-run shot to left. The Yellowjackets tacked on another run on an a Gabriela Alatorre RBI double, but the Thoroughbreds (12-16, 3-5) came roaring back in the bottom half of the inning.

Sam Skott led off with a single and scored on a Dani DeGregory single. Lizette Roman-Johnston singled in Skidmore's next at-bat and stole second and Lauren Fortunato knocked in DeGregory with a single down the left-field line. Lauren Gorstein brought in two more runs with a double to center field and later scored as Cassie Fishkin reached on an error. After Grage recorded a strikeout for the second out of the inning, Attonito stepped in and belted a 2-1 pitch over the fence in right, lifting the Thoroughbreds to the 10-9 win.

Rochester took a 3-0 lead with three runs in the third behind six straight singles. Eleni Wechsler, Sarah Wayson and Blackshear all produced RBI singles in the inning. After Cathleen Konopka scored on a wild pitch in the fourth, the Thoroughbreds cut into their deficit in the fifth.
