FT. MYERS, Fla.—The Skidmore College baseball team pounded out 15 hits in a 14-11 win over McDaniel College to earn a split after dropping the first game, 11-1.

The Thoroughbreds are 4-2 and will finish the Florida trip with a pair of Liberty League double headers against Rensselaer on Saturday and Sunday. McDaniel is 4-3.

In the first game, McDaniel sent 11 batters to the plate in a seven-run third inning. Skidmore scored its run in the second when
Daniel Dasgupta drew a bases loaded walk that plated
Chris Lorenz who opened the inning with a double.

The Thoroughbreds rebounded in the second game. Skidmore scored six runs in the second inning to open an 8-3 lead.
Nick Barra had a two-run single and Mike Lavita had an RBI double.

Three more runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth gave the Thoroughbreds the 14-11 win.

Nick Barra finished 2-3 with a double and four RBI.
Matt Barra was 3-5 with a double, three RBI, and three runs, while
Steven Gilbert went 3-5 with two runs, and an RBI. Lavita and
Eric Damphousse had two hits each.

Justin Willig got the win in relief, allowing four runs on six hits, with no walks, and three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.
