Men's basketball set for road tests at Hobart and RIT

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's basketball team will look to hold its place atop the Liberty League standings this weekend when it goes on the road to face Hobart and RIT.

 SCOUTING THE THOROUGHBREDS (11-6, 8-1 Liberty League): Skidmore took sole possession of first in the Liberty League with wins at Vassar and Bard last weekend…Junior guard Aldin Medunjanin scored 21 points and added six rebounds and three assists against Vassar, becoming the program's 16th 1,000-career point scorer…Junior guard Erik Sanders had 18 points and eight rebounds against Vassar and produced a season-high 24 points to go along with six rebounds against Bard, earning Liberty League Performer of the Week honors.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: The Thoroughbreds are 8-1 over their last nine games….Skidmore has limited conference opponents to 52.7 points per game and has outscored league opponents by an average of 14 points….The Thoroughbreds are shooting 44.9% in conference games, while limiting Liberty League foes to 34.6% shooting, ranking first in both categories…Skidmore ranks third in Division III in opponent field goal percentage (36.6%) and 14th in blocked shots per game (4.9)…The Thoroughbreds have a 6.2 rebounding margin in conference contests…Skidmore is 7-1 when shooting over 44%.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Sanders is sixth in the league in scoring (51.1 ppg) and has scored in double-digits in 14 of 17 games…He is averaging 17.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game over the last seven contests…Medunjanin averages 14.5 points per game, ranking seventh in the league, and is averaging 15.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game over the last six games…Senior Connor Merrill has scored in double-digits in six of the last seven games…He leads the Liberty League in blocked shots per game (1.9) and sits fifth in field goal percentage (46.85) and sixth in rebounds per game (6.9).
 
 
SCOUTING THE STATESMEN (13-6, 8-2 Liberty League): Hobart extended its winning streak to five games with wins over Clarkson and Union last weekend…Senior guard Connor Rehbaum had a game-high 22 points against Clarkson, going 8 for 16 from the field, including 6 for 11 from 3-point range…Senior guard Trey Blanding scored a team-high 16 points against Union, senior guard Andrew Hoy added 14 points and freshman forward Luke Ruddy chipped in with 13 points and six boards off the bench.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: Hobart is 4-3 at home…The Statesmen are 8-1 over their last nine…Hobart is 7-1 when pulling down 39 or more rebounds and 9-2 when shooting 39% from the field or better…The Statesmen lead the league in 3-point field goal defense, holding their opponents to 29.3% shooting, while ranking second in 3-point field goal percentage (35.1%)…Hobart averages a league-high 8.4 3-pointers per game.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Rehbaum is second in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (37.5%) and 3-pointers made (2.5), fifth in scoring (15.3 ppg) and eighth in field goal percentage (42.1%)…Blanding in second in the conference in assists per game (4.5) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0)…Hoy ranks third in the league is 3-point field goal percentage (37.4%) and fourth in 3-pointers per game (2.3).

SCOUTING THE TIGERS (10-9, 5-5 Liberty League): RIT dropped back-to-back conference games last weekend, falling to Clarkson and St. Lawrence…Freshman guard A.J. Horde had a team-high 15 points and six rebounds against Clarkson and produced 19 points in Saturday's 84-81 overtime loss at St. Lawrence…Sophomore guard Joe Stortini had 18 points and junior forward Kamron Davis added 14 points and 7 rebounds.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: RIT is 5-2 at home…The Tigers average 69.1 points per game and 7.6 3-pointers per game, placing them second in the league…RIT is second in the league in offensive rebounds per game (11.2) and third in defensive rebounds per game (26.3)…The Tigers lead the conference in steals per game (8.47) and rank second in blocked shots per game (3.32).
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Horde leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.6 points per game and ranks third in the league in 3-pointers per game (2.3) and fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (34.7%) and assists per game (3.7)…He is averaging 16.5 points and 2.8 steals per game over the last six games…Junior forward J.P. Reagan is second on the team in scoring (11.1 ppg), rebounds per game (6.4) and steals per game (1.6)…Davis leads the team in rebounds per game (6.8) and is fourth in the Liberty League in blocked shots per game (1.3).
