SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's basketball team will be looking to lock up the top seed in the Liberty League tournament when it takes on St. Lawrence and Clarkson this weekend.

The Thoroughbreds are currently first in the conference standings and can clinch the regular season title with two wins or a win over Clarkson and a Hobart loss.

SCOUTING THE THOROUGHBREDS (15-7, 12-2 Liberty League): Skidmore went a perfect 3-0 last week with wins over St. Lawrence, RPI and Union…The Thoroughbreds erased an 18-point second-half deficit in a 76-71 win over St. Lawrence…Skidmore shot a season-high 58% (29-50) from the field in a 77-58 against RPI…Junior guard Aldin Medunjanin averaged 18.6 points, six rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game over the three contests, earning Liberty League Performer of the Week honors…Sophomore guard Royce Paris scored a season-high 19 points against the Saints and added 18 points and six boards off the bench against Union...Senior forward Connor Merrill shot 63.2% (18-29) over the three games, averaging 15.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: The Thoroughbreds are currently riding a four-game winning streak…Skidmore is second in the conference in scoring offense (70.4 ppg) and field goal percentage (44.4%)…The Thoroughbreds have limited conference opponents to 37% shooting from the field, including 31.2% from beyond the arc… Skidmore leads the league in defensive rebounds per game (28.2)…The Thoroughbreds are 6-1 over their last seven road games…Skidmore is 11-1 when shooting 44% or better from the field…The Thoroughbreds are 7-0 when recording 13 or more assists.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Medunjanin is second in the conference in assists per game (4.1), third in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1) and steals per game (1.6) and sixth in scoring (14.9 ppg)…Paris has scored in double figures in five of the last six games…He is shooting 67.2% from the field and is averaging 14.3 points and four rebounds per game over the last three games…Merrill leads the conference in blocked shots per game (1.8) and is third in field goal percentage (49.4%), seventh in scoring (14.5 ppg) and ninth in rebounds per game (6.6).

SCOUTING THE SAINTS (13-11, 7-8 Liberty League):  St. Lawrence suffered a 68-62 setback at Clarkson on Wednesday night…Senior forward Brady Condlin tied for a game-high with 21 points and added a game-high eight rebounds…Sophomore guard Willie Zachery had 15 points on 6 of 12 shooting.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: St. Lawrence is 9-1 when scoring 70 or more points and 8-2 when shooting over 30% from 3-point range…The Saints are 6-4 at home…St. Lawrence is third in the league in scoring offense (69.0 ppg), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.17) and steals per game (7.0).
