CANTON, N.Y.—
Isaac Carp scored eight of Skidmore's 12 overtime points to lead the Thoroughbreds to a 72-67 overtime Liberty League road win over St. Lawrence University, Friday night.

The win keeps Skidmore in first place with a 13-2 league and 16-7 record. The Thoroughbreds have clinched a playoff berth and will finish first with a win in the team's regular season home final on Sunday against Clarkson.  The Senior Day game is scheduled to tip at 4 p.m.  St. Lawrence finishes its season at 13-12 and 7-9 in the league.

For the second time this season Skidmore erased a second-half double digit St. Lawrence lead. The Saints were up 44-34 with 15:21 to play in regulation when used an 18-6 run to go up 52-50.Â
Martin Bedulskij hit a three with 10:28 to left to cap the run.

Neither team could take control down the stretch. The Thoroughbreds scored their final points of regulation on a
Royce Paris layup at the 2:54 mark to lead 61-60. Kyle Edwards made one of two free throws to tie it 61-61 with 2:41 left. Neither team could score the rest of regulation.

Skidmore controlled the overtime with Carp hitting a pair of threes and two free throws  to secure the win.

Carp finished with 14 points.
Royce Paris led the Thoroughbreds with 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Bedulskij scored 15 to go along with seven boards.
Connor Merrill hit for 11 points.

"It was a heck of a win by the team tonight," said Skidmore coach
Joe Burke.  "This is a tough trip, in a tough environment against a good team and we had to earn it.Â
"Offensively we couldn't make any shots but our defense kept us in it and we make some big plays down the stretch. To be honest, it was a good college basketball game, both teams went at it.
"Sunday should be a lot of fun as we honor a great senior class. This was my first recruiting class and I can't say enough about their character, leadership and what they have meant to this program."
