SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College ice hockey team will take on its third nationally-ranked opponent in as many games when it travels to #3/4 Norwich on Friday night. The Thoroughbreds take on Saint Michael's in their second game of the weekend on Saturday.
 
Skidmore took #10 UMass Boston to the wire on Saturday, rallying from two goals down in the third period to tie the game at 2-2 but the Beacons managed to net the game-winner at 17:30. Freshman forward Adam Moodie scored his second goal of the season and Anthony Bird and Marc Cibelli each had a pair of assists. Junior goaltender Jack McDonald had a season-high 40 saves, including 16 in the third period.
 
- Cibelli is tied for the league high with six assists and is tied for sixth with six points.
 
- Bird is second on the team with five points and is tied for eighth in the conference with four helpers.
 
- Moodie is tied for fourth among the league's rookies with three points (2 g, 1 a).
 
- Sophomore defenseman Connor Pelkey has two power play goals on the season and seven in his career.

SCOUTING NORWICH
Norwich improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in NEHC play last weekend with league wins over Saint Anselm and New England College. Sophomore goaltender Braeden Ostepchuk was named the NEHC Goalie of the Week after recording a career-high 29 saves in a 1-0 win over the Hawks.
 
 - Junior forward Tyler Piacentini leads the team with six points (1 g, 5 a) and is tied for third in the conference in assists.
 
-  Sophomore Kevin Salvuci is tied for second in the league with four goals.
 
- Ostephchuk and junior Ty Reichenbach have split time in goal. Reinbach is second in the league with a .966 save percentage and a 0.79 goals against average, while Ostephchuk is third in save percentage (.962) and goals against average (0.80).
 
- The Cadets are 5-for-19 on the power play (26.3%) and 20-for-22 on the penalty kill (90.9%).
 
- Six of Norwich's 13 goals have come in the third period.
 
- Norwich went 16-0 at home last season.

- Saint Michael's has scored just five goals and is allowing 6.20 goals per game.
 
- The Purple Knights are 1-for26 (3.8%) on the power play and 15-for-21 (71.4%) on the penalty kill.
 
- Freshman forward Sam D'Antuono leads the lead with two goals. Senior forwards Kevin Altidor (1 g, 1 a) and Nick Potter (2 a) are tied for the team high with two assists.
