SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College volleyball team travels to Union Saturday for a pair of non-league matches.
 
The Thoroughbreds fell to Middlebury, 3-0, on Tuesday. Freshman setter Bailey Hutchins contributed a double-double with 12 assists and 10 digs, Caite Canfield added 12 kills and six digs and Marcela Familiar-Bolaños, the Liberty League leader in digs per set, chipped in with 13 digs.
 
 SCOUTING NEW ROCHELLE
New Rochelle posted its 10th straight victory and sixth-straight sweep with a 3-0 win at the Old Westbury on Tuedsay. Sophomore Fabiola Padilla Rios had a double-double with 13 kills and12 digs, while Tiany Perez Diaz had 10 kills, eight digs and six service aces. The Blue Angels racked up 15 service aces in the match.
 
New Rochelle has dropped just 17 of 59 sets this season. Padilla Rios is averaging a team-high 3.02 kills per set and 3.50 digs per set. Perez Diaz is second on the team in kills per set (2.33) and digs per set (2.88) and third in service aces per set (0.95). Melanie Lopez Soto leads the Blue Angels in service aces per set (1.27) and assists per set (4.80).
 
SCOUTING PENN ST.-BEHREND
Penn St.-Behrend had its five-match win streak snapped on Tuesday in a 3-1 loss at Fredonia.
 
Junior outside hitter Paige Scurpa and sophomore outside hitter Rachel Frye are tied for the team-high in kills per set (2.22). Scurpa also ranks seconds on the team with 3.38 digs per set. Senior defensive specialist Courtney Hopson is contributing a team-best 0.43 service aces per set and 5.01 digs per set. The Lions are averaging 18.27 digs per set, placing them 30th in Division III.
