The Thoroughbreds spotted the Roos a three-goal first period lead before
Andreas Michailidis scored at 4:11 of the second period from
Marc Cibelli.Â
Anthony Bird cut the lead to 3-2 at 6:15 of the second from
Kenny Nelson and
Max Hegge.  Canton tacked on a goal late in the period to make it 4-2 at the second break.

The Roos had the lone goal of the third for the 5-2 final.

Canton outshot Skidmore 25-14 and converted one of six power plays, while the Thoroughbreds were 0-2 on the power play.

Jack McDonald had 20 saves in net for Skidmore.

The Thoroughbreds open New England Hockey Conference play on Nov. 6 at New England College.
