#9 Skidmore back in the win column, 6-0 over Oneonta

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— The Skidmore College field hockey team began its postseason prep with a 6-0 non-league win over Oneonta State in the rain Wednesday afternoon at Wagner Park.
 
The ninth ranked Thoroughbreds are 12-5 overall and will host Nazareth College in the team's final regular season game on Saturday at 2 p.m.  The Red Dragons are 5-11.
 
Senior Dani DeGregory became the 10th player in NCAA III history and second at Skidmore to reach the 100-goal career mark. The offensive standout had two goals and two assists for six points in the win. She has 100 goals and 55 assists for 255 career points, eighth all-time.
 
Skidmore controlled the game from the start.  DeGregory worked her way into a fast break and distributed the ball to Gabby Hyman who scored off the far post at 15:54. DeGregory upped the score to 2-0 at 25:06 when she dribbled into the circle and backhanded a rocket into the bottom left corner. Only two minutes later, DeGregory dribbled through two defenders and scored her 100th off a backhand shot that caught the near post for a 3-0 lead.
 
Shannon Sebor opened the second half scoring with her fourth goal of the season on a spin move off a rebound at 38:08. Krista Lamoreaux made it 5-0 at 45:58 from DeGregory. Lamoreaux closed out the scoring with a point blank goal at 51:51 from Seeley Fancher for the 6-0 final.
 
Skidmore outshot Oneonta 37-4 and had an 18-2 corner advantage. 
 
Zoe McGuire had three saves over the first 64:15 for the win. Elizabeth Coughlin didn't face a shot on goal in the final 5:45. Red Dragon goalie Krista Servedio kept busy with 16 saves and Holly VanDresar had two defensive saves.
