Farmingdale, N.Y. – An own goal was the difference as the Farmingdale State women's soccer team defeated Skidmore, 1-0, in a non-conference game.
The Rams improved to 8-5-2 with the win, while the Thoroughbreds now stand at 5-7-1 on the season.
After a scoreless first half with both teams taking five shots, the lone goal of the game came in the 64th minute when a ball deflected off a Skidmore defender to give Farmingdale the 1-0 lead and eventual win.
Skidmore finished the game with an 11-9 shot advantage and 5-2 advantage on corner kick opportunities.
Alyssa Rollins stopped all four shots she faced in the first half, while
Deirdre Walsh had one save in the second half for the Thoroughbreds.
Skidmore hosts St. Lawrence on Saturday at 3 p.m.
