Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The Skidmore College men's soccer team got goals from four different players in a 4-1 non-conference win against Nazareth College in its home opener, Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.

Adam Beek tallied for the fourth time in as many games and added an assist and
Augustine Okoye produced his second consecutive multi-point game with a goal and an assist for the Thoroughbreds (4-2).
Nick Masiero and
Kevin Santos rounded out the scoring for Skidmore.

Beek put the Thoroughbreds ahead 4:57 into the contest, spinning past his defender and firing a left-footed strike inside the far post. Masiero doubled the Skidmore lead 3:34 later, rising to meet a Beek free kick and guiding a header in off the post.

The Golden Flyers (2-2) battled back late in the first and Lucas Bennett cut their deficit in half, collecting a loose ball and burying a strike from 12 yards under the crossbar.

Okoye provided a quick response for the Thoroughbreds in the second, as he managed to slot home a strike from eight yards after Nazareth failed to clear a Skidmore corner.

Ryan Foley nearly brought the Golden Flyers back within one with a long range strike, but Skidmore goalkeeper
Eli Kisselbach made a diving save to parry the ball past the near post.

Santos put the game out of reach with his first career goal, racing onto Okoye's perfectly weighted through ball and sliding a strike inside the left post.

Kisselbach made two saves in goal for the Thoroughbreds for his third win of the season. Nate Ripic turned away six shots in goal for the Golden Flyers. Skidmore outshot Nazareth 15-9, while Nazareth owned a 6-5 edge in corners.

The Thoroughbreds open Liberty League play with a rematch of last year's conference semifinals, travelling to RPI Tuesday, Sept. 16 for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
