Skidmore led by six with a 63-57 lead with 9:12 left featuring six points by Sanders. But the Ephs had a run of 14-2 run capped by a Wohl layup with 4:02 left and never trailed by less then five points the rest of the contest.
"Great game that unfortunately we come up on the wrong side of," said Skidmore coach Joe Burke. " I thought we played well enough offensively to win the game but we just couldn't get the stops we needed at the end. You can't have breakdowns against Williams because they know how to make you pay. We also have to figure out what's going on with the fouls. They shot 34 foul shots to our 14 and I thought we were the more aggressive driving team.
"We have three gut wrenching losses to three terrific teams. It's hard right now but I am confident we will benefit from this."
Skidmore plays Sunday at 2 p.m. against Westfield State while Williams takes on host Union at 4 p.m. Sunday. Â
