Box Score 2 SCHENECTADY, N.Y.— The Skidmore College volleyball team won its first two matches Friday night at the Union Invitational. The Thoroughbreds opened with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-18) win over Laselle and came back with a marathon 3-2 (25-19, 27-29, 25-21, 17-25, 15-7) win over Bridgewater State.

Skidmore (5-16) will close out play Saturday at 2 p.m. against Susquehanna University.

The Thoroughbreds had no trouble against Laselle (3-20).
Aria Goodman had a double/double with 13 kills and 11 digs to go along with two aces. Marcela Familiar had 16 kills and
Clara Jones had six aces and six digs.

As quick as the first match was, Bridgewater (14-10) extended the Thoroughbreds to five sets in the second match. After dropping the fourth set, 25-17, Skidmore scored the final five points in the fifth set for the deciding 15-7 win. Â Goodman put up impressive numbers again with 24 digs and 23 kills. She also had three blocks and two aces.
Kalle Fox had 50 assists, 14 digs, and four aces. Familiar contributed 35 digs.
Clare Kenny added a season-high 19 digs.
