Jack McDonald stopped all 31 shots he faced, recording his first career shutout to lead the Skidmore College hockey team to a 2-0 win against Nichols College, Friday night at the Saratoga City Rink.

McDonald turned away nine shots in the first period, 10 in the second and 12 in the third, earning his fourth win of the season. The Thoroughbreds, who snapped the Bison's five-game unbeaten streak, improve to 4-4-4 on the season, while Nichols goes to 7-2-2.

Aaron Beck tallied his team-high ninth goal of the season and freshman forward
Marc Cibelli potted his first career goal in the win.

Tim Colvin each chipped in with an assist.

Beck opened the scoring for Skidmore at 14:03 of the first, slotting home a cross-ice feed from Krajnak. Krajnak collected a rebound after a blocked shot and picked out Beck for a one-timer.

The Thoroughbreds doubled their lead at 2:13 of the second as Cibelli converted from the left circle on a pass from Bird.

The Bison began taking control of the game in the third period, outshooting Skidmore 12-6, but McDonald came up with key saves with time winding down to preserve the shutout.
