Tanner Brooks scored nine of his 17 points in the final 2:15 to help the Skidmore College men's basketball team hold off St. Lawrence, 69-66, in conference play Tuesday night at the Williamson Sports Center.

After a 10-1 Saints (6-9, 2-4 Liberty) run cut the Thoroughbreds (10-7, 4-4) lead to one at 60-59, Brooks tallied the Thoroughbreds final nine points, going 3-3 from deep to put the game out of reach.Â

Aldin Medunjanin recorded a double-double for Skidmore, scoring a game high 22 points on 6-of-9 shooting from 3-point range and adding 10 rebounds. Medunjanin also chipped in with seven assists and
Connor Merrill contributed 10 points and six boards.

The Thoroughbreds opened up an early lead with a 17-4 run to start the contest with Medunjanin scoring nine of his 15 first half points in that stretch. Skidmore continued its hot shooting throughout the first half, outscoring St. Lawrence 21-13 over the final 10 minutes to take a 43-28 lead into the break.

The Saints responded in the second, starting the half on a 17-7 run sparked by an Al Jones 3-pointer. Payton Stahler's layup at 10:23 cut the Skidmore lead to five at 50-45, but Medunjanin scored five-straight points for the Thoroughbreds to restore a 10-point lead (59-49) with 6:59 to play.

St. Lawrence put together a final push to battle back within one before Brooks sealed the game for Skidmore.

The Thoroughbreds shot 46.9-percent from the field on 23-of-49 shooting and finished 16-of-31 from beyond the arc. The Saints shots 43.9-percent in the contest on 25-57 shooting.

Kyle Edwards led St. Lawrence with 19 points, Jones scored 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and Kyle Kobis tallied 16 points.
