Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.--A resilient Skidmore College volleyball team came from behind for a 3-2 ( 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 18-16) win over Kean University in the Skidmore Invitational Tournament.
 
Play continues Saturday when the Thoroughbreds take on New Paltz at 11 a.m. and Fredonia State at 3 p.m.

The fifth set reflected the closeness of the match. Skidmore appeared headed for the win with a 14-12 lead. The Cougars battled back with three straight points to go ahead 15-14.  A Kean service error coming after a Thoroughbred timeout tied the game 15-15.  The Cougars went back in front 16-15, but Skidmore scored three straight points to close out the set and the match 18-16. Natalle Nagle had the final three kills for the Thoroughbreds.
 
Nagle finished with 16 kills and three aces.  Corinne Palmer had 17 kills, nine digs, and five blocks. Aria Goodman added 16 kills and 17 digs, while Emma Wilberg had 45 assists and 13 digs. Clare Kenny contributed 15 digs and Marcela Familiar had 26 digs.
 
For Kean, Jen Espinal had 12 digs and 10 kills and Aysia Peterson had 13 digs and 11 kills. Kaitlyn Hansen had a match-high 18 kills and five blocks.
