Volleyball completes weekend sweep

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Schenectady, N.Y. – The Skidmore College volleyball team completed its 4-0 Liberty League weekend with a pair of victories over Vassar and St. Lawrence, Saturday at Union College.
 
The Thoroughbreds defeated Vassar 3-1 (18-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-18) and St. Lawrence 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-21) to improve to 11-4 overall and remain undefeated in Liberty League play at 5-0.
 
After dropping the first set to the Brewers, Skidmore battled back behind 20 kills from Corinne Palmer and 40 assists from Mallory Mendelsohn.  Palmer added two blocks while Elise Finnerty tallied 10 kills and two blocks.  Carolyn Bottelier and Sam Friedman added 12 digs apiece.
 
For Vassar, Chloe McGuire had a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs and Hilary Koenigs finished with 45 assists.
 
In a three-set sweep of the Saints, the Thoroughbreds totaled 10 service aces led by Mendelsohn with four.  Mendelsohn added 32 assists as Friedman had 17 digs and Finnerty tallied a team-high 10 kills.  Palmer finished with nine kills and four total blocks.
 
St. Lawrence was led by Anna Kassab's 11 assists and 11 digs, while Katie Prue added 14 digs.
 
Skidmore returns to action on October 5 at the Union Interleague Challenge.
