Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's basketball team completed the Liberty League  weekend road sweep with a 91-52 win over Bard College, Saturday afternoon.
 
The win propels the Thoroughbreds into second place in the crowded Liberty League playoff race with a 7-3 league and 13-6 overall record.
 
Skidmore broke open the game with a 17-3 run over the last six minutes of the first half.
 
Bard (3-16 overall, 1-10 Liberty League) trailed 11-1 early, but rallied and cut Skidmore's lead to 25-23 with 6:47 left in the first half. The 17-3 run that ensued was sparked by senior Terron Victoria (Albany, NY), who  had eight points in that stretch, and Skidmore made the 16-point halftime lead stand up by scoring 49 second-half points and shooting 56 percent for the game.
 
Skidmore got 27 points and five rebounds from senior Melvis Langyintuo (Tamale, Ghana); 16 points, five rebounds and eight assists from senior Gerard O'Shea (West Sand Lake, NY); and 10 points apiece from senior Kyle Clark (New York, NY) and Victoria.

"I was very pleased with our defensive effort tonight" coach Joe Burke said. "Bard brought a lot of energy early and I thought we matched it."

"In the second half  we were able to and keep the pressure on them.  We also found our offensive rhythm for the first time in awhile. It was good to see us make some shots."
 
The Thoroughbreds next play on Tuesday, hosting Clarkson on Tuesday at 8 p.m. in a game with huge playoff implications.
