This weekend, all six Skidmore College winter teams will be in action including the men's and women's basketball teams opening their 2012-13 campaigns.
Women's basketball, riding and men's and women's swimming & diving will all host events this weekend while ice hockey and men's basketball will be on the road.
Women's basketball host the 35th annual Skidmore Invitational this weekend featuring Tufts, Ithaca and Hamilton. The Thoroughbreds will face off against Tufts tonight at 8 p.m. and take on Ithaca tomorrow at 4 p.m. Returning for Skidmore is post players Logan Frederick and Angela Botiba as well as guard Jordyn Wartts.
Swimming & diving hosts Utica for their final home meet of the calendar year. The men are led by Jesse Adler and diver Jacob Nathan, while Carrie Koch, Catherine King and Yookee Roh are putting together impressive seasons on the women's side.
Riding hosts the Skidmore Show this weekend for their first home show of the season. Skidmore is perfect on the season posting 139 out of a possible 147 points in their three victories. Julia Mazzarella was the high point rider in their first two victories, while Emma Weinstein earned reserve high point rider in the most recent win.
Men's basketball opens their season today against Delaware Valley in the opener of the Widener Tip-Off. They will face either Wesley or host Widener on Saturday. The two-time defending Liberty League champions have a lot of new faces this season but will rely on returners

Kevin Dahill and
Sakhile Sithole to lead the way.
Ice hockey travels to Massachusetts for a pair of ECAC East contests against UMass Boston and Babson. Skidmore is off to a 2-2 start and is led offensively by captains Brendan Cottam and Brad Schuler.
