Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- Championship weekend is here for the Skidmore College volleyball team when the Thoroughbreds host the Liberty League Tournament Friday and Saturday at the Williamson Center.
Top seed Skidmore will play #4 RIT at 5 p.m. Friday in the first semifinal, while #3 Vassar and #2 Clarkson faceoff in the second semifinal at 7:30 p.m. The championship match is Saturday at 4 p.m.

The defending champion Thoroughbreds beat Clarkson 3-2 in Potsdam to win the 2011 tournament.
Skidmore (25-6) went 12-0 in league play to earn the top seed. The Thoroughbreds have gone 22-2 after a 2-4 start, including win streaks of 13 and 10.
2012 Liberty League Player of the Year
Corinne Palmer leads the team into the tournament. The junior middle hitter has a .345 hitting percentage and is averaging 3.62 kills and 0.79 blocks per set.
In addition to Palmer, Skidmore has received major contributions this season from all-conference honorees:
Elise Finnerty,
Carolyn Bottelier,
Mallory Mendelsohn, and
Sam Friedman.
RIT (26-14) was 6-6 in conference play, including 3-2 and 3-0 losses to the Thoroughbreds. The Tigers are led by senior middle hitter Cat Sullivan who averaged 0.87 blocks and 2.26 kills per set to go along with a .360 hitting percentage.
Clarkson (26-6) earned the second seed with a 10-2 league record, the only losses coming against Skidmore (3-1, 3-0). Liberty League Rookie of the Year Victoria Kirkemo leads Golden Knights into the tournament averaging 3.20 kills and 0.50 service aces per set.
Vassar (20-10) is the number three seed with an 8-4 league mark. The Brewers are led by senior setter Hilary Koenigs is averaging 9.24 assists per set.
