Box Score Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The Skidmore College volleyball team saw its 13-match winning streak come to an end with Tuesday night's 3-0 (21-25, 20-25, 21-25) loss to Middlebury at the Williamson Sports Center.
Skidmore falls to 15-5 on the season, while the Panthers improve to 13-4.
The teams battle back and forth in every set, but Middlebury was able to pull away late and secure the victories.
For Skidmore, senior
Carolyn Bottelier posted a double-double with 16 kills and 15 digs to lead the way. Classmate
Mallory Mendelsohn finished with 30 assists to go along with seven digs, while
Maureen Mahoney had 11 digs and
Aria Goodman tallied seven kills and six digs.
For the Panthers it was a balanced attack led by Olivia Kolodka, Amy Hart and Megan Jarchow all finishing with double-digit kills. Caitlin Barrett chipped in with 21 digs and Kathryn Haderlein added 35 assists. As a team, Middlebury had 10 service aces led by three from Hart.
The Thoroughbreds return to Liberty League action on Friday when they take on Vassar and RIT in Poughkeepsie, while the Panthers travel to Amherst.
